Famous Exotic Cars That Were Featured In Movies

There is no doubt that a movie becomes a blockbuster because of humans, particularly directors, cinematographers, dialogue writers, music directors, and of course the lead actors. However, some movies become hits due to certain non-human elements like, cars! Exotic and classic cars have long been a major attraction in movies. Many film lovers are also great car lovers and watch movies just for the luxury car models featured in them. Here’s a short account of the famous exotic cars that were featured in movies which will certainly be great entertainment for the lovers of films and cars.

BMW

BMW standing for Bayerische Motoren Werke is the world’s best luxury car preferred by filmmakers to show off in their movies as well as by exotic car rental companies to offer to car lovers. BMW cars are counted like stars in films like Mission: Impossible – Fallout, Overdrive, Mission 8 – From the First Idea to the First Race, Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation, Fast & Furious 6, Taxi, Lethal Weapon, and many more.

The most famous BMW models include 2 Series (Coupe, Gran Coupe, and Convertible), 3 Series (Sedan, Hybrid, Gran Turismo, and Wagon), 4 Series Coupe, and more. Buying or renting luxury and exotic cars like these is a dream of every car lover.

Numerous BMW design icons have continually characterized and developed the identity of BMW models throughout the years. The distinct characteristics that make BMW models unmistakable are Kidney Grille (the 2-port radiator grille is a hallmark of BMW cars), Hofmeister Kink (the counter curve in the window skeleton), crease line that gives every BMW a unique tapered shape and remarkable proportions in the form of a long bonnet, extended wheelbase and a setback passenger section that make driving and even looking at this vehicle a sheer pleasure.

Rolls Royce

Featured in movies like Last Action Hero, The Sorcerer’s Apprentice, Lord of War, Iron Man, and many others, Rolls Royce seems to be a popular car among filmmakers.

Costing a whopping $28 million, Boat Trail is the most expensive Rolls Royce model in the world.

The brand has other models like Ghost, Phantom, Wraith, Cullinan, and Dawn.

Some of the most remarkable features of Rolls Royce cars are the Spirit of Ecstacy emblem (this can be customized in 24-carat gold) on the car’s hood, starlight roof, button-operated doors, Teflon-coated umbrella chambers, no stretch-marked leather used in the interior, and many others, for which any car lover would dream of driving this luxurious vehicle. Plus, each model has some special features of its own. E.g. the Rolls Royce Phantom Limo has custom 20” designer chrome wheels as well as a hidden 5th door for quick passenger access. Thanks to Rolls Royce rental companies, you can drive this luxury car, even if you don’t want to buy one.

Lamborghini

As compared to Ford Mustang (featured in 809 films) and Ford Crown Victoria (featured in 755 films), Lamborghini has fewer films to its credit; however, it has a special place in filmmakers’ and film and car-lovers hearts alike.

Along with Lamborghini Aventador featured in Furious 7, Lamborghini Murcielago and Aventador featured in the Batman Trilogy, Lamborghini Countach featured in The Wolf of Wall Street and Rain Main, and many more films, Lamborghini models have been featured also in TV shows like Victorious, The Glades and MythBusters. Lamborghini Veneno has been featured in numerous sitcoms, web series, and television series.

Electric exotic cars Coming in 2022

2022 is going to be an exciting year concerning the automotive industry. We’ll see many new vehicles released in the market, and plenty of refreshed models will make their way to dealerships. But the main focus will be on EVs and especially on electric exotic cars that will rule the future.

Here are a few cars that will certainly raise a few eyebrows on their release in 2022.

2022 BMW i4

The much-awaited BMW i4 will make its way to dealerships in 2022. The vehicle will be one of the first BMWs to sport the new large-sized kidney grille, and it will also be the first true electric sedan in the BMW range. Many fans are anxious to see the i4 and how it will compare with the i8.

According to statistics provided by BMW, the i4 will have an electric driving range of 300 miles, and it will have a starting price of around $55,000. We will have to wait and see the real-life driving range when the car hits the roads, but for now, the estimates seem pretty realistic.

2022 Mercedes-Benz EQS

The Mercedes-Benz EQS is the latest surprise to come out of the German brand’s headquarters. It is a fully electric luxury supercar that has the design philosophy of a futuristic automobile. The car takes inspiration from the renowned S-Class and molds it into something better.

Mercedes claims that the EQS will have a battery range of 400 miles, which is impressive if it is true. Moreover, the car will make 516 horsepower and accelerate faster than most combustion engine supercars nowadays. The Mercedes-Benz EQS starts at $100,000, well above the asking price for other electric exotic cars.

Ioniq 6

The Korean auto manufacturer Hyundai is jumping on the bandwagon and bringing an all-electric supercar for the fans. Hyundai will do that through their Ioniq sub-brand. In doing so, they will try to compete with the likes of Audi and Porsche.

The Ioniq 6 goes head to head with the Audi e-Tron GT and the Porsche Taycan. The car looks impressive, and it will surely rack up some sales since it costs almost half the price of its competitors. The Ioniq 6 will go on sale by the end of 2022, with a driving range of 300 miles under its belt.

Porsche Macan EV

The folks at Porsche don’t sit still when it comes to fighting off their competition in the EV market. They have already impressed fans with the Taycan, and now the Macan EV is on the horizon. The Porsche Macan shall make an appearance by the end of 2022. It will be a vehicle that, like every other Porsche supercar, ekes outperformance.

The Porsche Macan EV will produce 600 horsepower and a 0-60 mph dash in under seconds. If that wasn’t impressive enough, the vehicle should have a healthy driving range to allow you to have fun for longer.

Tesla Model Y

Tesla has conquered the EV market, and they intend to stay at the top for a long time. That’s why we will see the Tesla Model Y in early 2022 so that the company can cement its position at the top. The new car was supposed to be in dealerships earlier, but the pandemic made it impossible for the brand to manage the release.

Now the Model Y SUV is all set for release, and it will impress fans even further. The vehicle has a battery range of 314 miles. Moreover, the Performance variant gets 449 bhp and a 0-60 mph sprint time of 3.5 seconds. These figures might convince you to pay more than £60,000 for the Model Y.

Tesla Roadster

We saved the best for last, and perhaps that was the thinking at Tesla. The company revealed the Tesla Roadster concept back in 2017, and finally, we will see the car in its flesh in 2022. The hype surrounding the supercar is legit as the Roadster is nothing short of amazing.

Tesla claims that the Roadster will produce 1,000 bhp, accelerate from 0-60 mph in 1.9 seconds, and reach a top speed of 250 mph. If that wasn’t impressive enough, the car boasts a battery range of 620 miles. The only drawback is its price, which will set you down by £151,000.
