The Last American Hero (1973)

[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]

The 1973 movie The Last American Hero is based on the true story of a man who is trying to make it in the racing world.

In the early 1970s, Bobby Allison, a Tennessee boy with a natural talent for racing, has his eye on one prize: a new Pontiac Trans Am. But when he tries to get his hands on one through legitimate means, he’s told that he’ll never be able to afford it. That’s when Bobby takes matters into his own hands and starts running moonshine up from Tennessee to Georgia in order to buy the car of his dreams.

[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]This is the story of NASCAR legend Junior Johnson, who raced in the 1950s and ‘60s. Before he became one of the greatest drivers in the sport’s history, he was a moonshine runner in North Carolina. The Last American Hero tells you how and why Johnson went from evading cops in his Mustang on mountain roads to winning five races in the ‘55 NASCAR Grand National Series. The movie also highlights the behind-the-scenes struggle of a racer on his way up from the bottom. It portrays the lows of exploitative promoters, cheating lovers, and prohibitive racing elite, to the highs of becoming one of the most well-known celebrities south of the Mason-Dixon line.[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]Movie Link: https://www.amazon.com/Last-American-Hero-Jeff-Bridges/dp/B002B7CFR6

Dirty Mary, Crazy Larry (1974)

[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]

Dirty Mary, Crazy Larry is a 1974 American action film directed by John Hough and starring Peter Fonda, Susan George, and Adam Roarke. It tells the story of two men who decide to steal $400,000 worth of marijuana from a criminal gang in Mexico.

The movie was filmed in and around the Big Bear Lake region of Southern California. It featured many cars that were modified to appear more exotic than they actually were.

[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]Four decades on, Dirty Mary, Crazy Larry still gets your blood pumping with its endless action and realistic stunts. The plot revolves around three characters — Larry and Derek, two NASCAR drivers looking to build a faster car, and Mary, who is mad at Larry for running off after a one- night-stand. They get their cash, but law enforcement is hot on their trail. The trio drive around in an Impala SS, then later swap it for a big-block Dodge Charger (after all, the cops have Dodge Polara 440s). Dirty Mary, Crazy Larry is a fast-paced thriller.[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]Movie Link: https://www.moviefone.com/movie/dirty-mary-crazy-larry/20706/where-to-watch/

The Transporter (2002)

The Transporter (2002)

[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]

This 2002 movie is about a man who transports packages without questions asked. He drives an exotic car which is the only thing he cares about. But then, he gets entangled in a dangerous situation and has to transport a package that is more precious than anything else.

The Transporter was released in 2002 and it starred Jason Statham as Frank Martin, an expert driver who will deliver anything for the right price. The film was directed by Corey Yuen and Louis Leterrier. It was based on the 2000 French film of the same name by Luc Besson.

[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]Jason Statham plays the protagonist, a brutally punctual driver who will transport anything, no questions asked. That is, until he finally breaks one of his own rules and opens his trunk. The Transporter relies on action scenes more than a plot to impress you. Some of the stunts are highly imaginative and outlandish. But once you take off the Men In Black sunglasses and get over the Hollywood-ness of the action, Corey Yuen’s direction and Statham’s self-executed stunts and gravelly British accent stand out. In the movie, Statham’s E38 BMW 7 Series has a manual transmission. It’s a one-off, since the V12-powered 750i was sold exclusively with an automatic.[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]More info: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Transporter[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]

The movie is about a group of professional thieves that plan to steal $4 million in gold bullion from the safe in Venice using three Mini Coopers.

[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]Witty and proud, the original The Italian Job is a quintessentially British film, a true classic. Michael Caine plays Charlie Croker, our villain who conspires to avenge the death of his friend by executing his plans to rob $4 million worth of gold in Turin. His co-conspirators are a myriad of colourful people who are all seemingly inept to pull off the heist. The Italian Job is underhanded and adventurous with its humor and has some memorable, iconic dialogue. Watch it for the car chases with three diminutive Minis, the intro with the Lamborghini Miura, and the numerous forms of British pride.[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]Movie Link: https://www.amazon.com/Italian-Job-Michael-Caine/dp/B000HZGNHW

Drive (2011)

[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]

Drive is a 2011 American neo-noir crime thriller film directed by Nicolas Winding Refn and written by Hossein Amini, based on the 2005 novel of the same name by James Sallis. The film stars Ryan Gosling as a Hollywood stunt driver who moonlights as a getaway driver.

The movie is about an unnamed Hollywood stunt driver who moonlights as a getaway driver. He meets Irene, his neighbor and falls in love with her. One day he is asked to do one more job for his boss, Bernie Rose, but this time he has to drive for him and not just be the getaway driver.

[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]Drive is dark and captivating, often touted as one of the best movies to come out in 2011. It is a throwback to the noir films of the 1950s and ‘60s. Ryan Gosling plays the protagonist, an unnamed stuntman who moonlights as a getaway driver. Drive won its Danish director Nicholas Refn the Best Director Award at Cannes. It even received an Academy Award for Best Sound Editing, and four British Academy Film Award nominations. Fun fact: Ryan Gosling wears a jacket with a scorpion on it, a reference to the animal fable about the frog and the scorpion, which is also referenced by the villain near the end of the movie.[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]More info: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Drive_(2011_film)[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]

Mad Max: Fury Road (2015)

[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]

Mad Max Fury Road is a movie that was released in 2015. It is a post-apocalyptic movie and it’s all about the journey of Max Rockatansky. The movie is set in the Australian desert and it’s about an ex-cop who has to survive in this hostile environment.

The film, which was directed by George Miller, has won many awards and accolades.

The film features many exotic cars and classic cars that you would never expect to see on a post-apocalyptic desert landscape. For example, there are old-school models such as Ford Falcon Coupe, Holden Monaro GTS 350, and Chevrolet Camaro Z28. But there are also some more modern models like BMW M5, Audi RS6 Avant, and Mercedes-Benz CLK GTR AMG

[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]The fourth Mad Max film came after nearly two decades of anticipation, and is now widely acclaimed as one of the best action films of all time. Max helps Imperator Furiosa escape with five concubines to Furiosa’s childhood home, far from Immortan Joe’s reach. Max has commendable commitment and a heart of gold. Charlize Theron’s performance as Furiosa will bring you back to Fury Road time and again.[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]Movie Link: https://www.amazon.com/Mad-Max-Fury-Tom-Hardy/dp/B00XOX9QCS

The Road Warrior (1981)

[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]

The Road Warrior is a 1981 post-apocalyptic movie starring Mel Gibson and directed by George Miller.

This article will be about the movie The Road Warrior and its cars. The director of this film, George Miller, wanted to make an interesting movie that would have lots of action scenes. He wanted to create a world where there was no civilization left on Earth so he made the film set in Australia.

The cars in this movie are very important because they show what the world has become after civilization has collapsed and people are fighting for resources.

[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]More famously known as Mad Max 2,The Road Warrior is a brilliantly executed work of dystopian fiction. The world is a post-apocalyptic wasteland where petrol and water are worth fighting over. This is Mad Max as we know it today — the story of an unscrupulous lone agent who survives a harsh desert and its wild inhabitants. The Pursuit Special V8 Falcon which Max was bribed with in the first movie, might just be single-handedly responsible for making the Mad Max cars famous.[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]Movie Link: https://www.amazon.com/Mad-Max-2-Road-Warrior/dp/B000H2R71G

Gone In 60 Seconds (1974)

[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]

Gone in 60 Seconds is a 1974 American car chase film, directed by H.B. Halicki and starring Angelina Jolie and Nicolas Cage.

The film tells the story of two brothers who are forced to steal 50 cars in a day to save their family’s business from bankruptcy. The title refers to the speed at which all of the cars need to be stolen, which is about one every minute.

[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]You might not remember it, but the original Gone in 60 Seconds is a thriller you can’t miss. Its action and chase scenes are more real than you might think — there were few hired background actors, so bystanders and law enforcement officials outside the main cast are actual people. Yes, crowd reactions are genuine horror. Non-scripted mishaps and accidents have been kept in the film.[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]More info: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gone_in_60_Seconds_(1974_film)[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
