The Driver is a 1978 American crime drama film written and directed by Walter Hill. The film stars Ryan O’Neal, Bruce Dern, and Isabelle Adjani. It tells the story of a professional getaway driver who finds himself in trouble when he helps his father and brother escape from prison.
The Driver is often considered one of the best car chase movies of all time.
It was nominated for two Academy Awards: Best Original Music Score for Paul Buckmaster, and Best Sound (Robert Knudson, Robert Glass).
