Is there Anything New for 2021?

Keeping its features and engine to a minimum, the Dawn rolls into 2021 with no changes to its options or powertrain. The Dawn will no longer be available in North America, as Rolls-Royce is currently discontinuing it. Eventually, the Dawn may be replaced by a convertible model, but such plans have not yet been announced.

In addition, buyers can opt for one of Rolls-Royce’s three diverse collections, or they can create a custom Dawn using the company’s bespoke program. Serenade makes a pleasing nautical statement with its navy-blue exterior and ice-blue interior.

Vehicle Performance, Transmission, and Engine

Engine details include a twin-turbocharged V-12. This powerful machine boasts 563 horsepower making it just as quick and sexy as it is powerful. As measured on the test track, the Dawn reached 60 mph in just 4.3 seconds. With its graceful movement and deliberate steering, the car cossets its passengers even when navigating the roughest potholes.

There is a tuned eight-speed automatic transmission. The system analyzes the speed of the car and shifts gears accordingly, based on the uphill, downhill, and corners it is taking. The Continental GT is also faster and sportier to drive than the Dawn, so if you are interested in a more athletic, grand-toured convertible, maybe consider it.

Getting the Best MPG on Real-World Fuel

As with Rolls-Royce’s other models, the Dawn does not have particularly high fuel efficiency. According to the EPA, it gets 12 mpg in the city, 18 mpg on the highway, and 14 mpg combined, the same figure as the Ghost sedan. However, it gets slightly less fuel economy on the highway than the Phantom. Putting this luxury boat through our fuel-efficiency test would be fun. Who wouldn’t want to cruise on the highway 200 miles in this boat? We’ll be sure to let you know if and when we receive the results.

The Interior, Comfort, and Cargo of an Aircraft

Featuring rear-hinged doors, the Dawn offers easy access to its cabin, which can accommodate four adults. This leather couch is crafted from butter-soft leather with wood trim that is acres long. There is an option for massage function for the front seats and thick lambswool floor mats to pamper anyone who comes along for the ride. Although Dawn’s trunk is on the small side for a large car—because of its convertible top—it should still be able to fit two carry-on suitcases.

Among the standard features are touch-screen infotainment systems and a TV tuner for passengers to enjoy as they travel. The vehicle is also equipped with a navigation system with real-time traffic updates, and a premium stereo system with 18 speakers is loud enough to drown out road noise and wind while you cruise with the top down.

Features that Promote Safety and Driver Assistance

There is no crash-test data for a Dawn from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) or the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), although they may perform one soon. In addition to old-school luxury, the Rolls Royce Dawn Black Badge includes a powerful technological suite, including a novel night-vision system for better visibility when driving at night. A few of the most important safety features are:

  • An alert for forwarding collisions is standard
  • A lane-departure warning system is available
  • A night vision cruise control is available

In keeping with Rolls-Royce tradition, the Rolls Royce Dawn Black Badge has four-year/unlimited-mileage warranties and maintenance plans.

  • Unlimited mileage for four years or four years with limited warranty
  • Engines covered by four-year, unlimited-mile warranties
  • There is a four-year unlimited-mileage maintenance plan available
