The 1986 comedy film Planes, Trains and Automobiles is a story about two strangers who are forced to travel together after an unfortunate series of events. The movie starts with Neal Page driving to Chicago for Thanksgiving with his family. When he misses his exit, he decides to take the long way by going through Ohio instead of Michigan. Meanwhile, Del is trying to get back home for Thanksgiving with his family in Chicago by taking the train from North Carolina. The two strangers are forced to share a rental car when their flights are cancelled due to bad weather conditions.
