Tucker: The Man And His Dream (1988)
[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]Do you remember the last time you had to sit through a gruelling hour and a half of bad cinema just because it was a movie about cars? Gearheads are often denied the simple pleasures of a good story and compelling performances. Yet, there are tales of glorious cars and legendary drivers littered throughout the history of motorsport. Following are tales of ambition, passion and tragedy, which artfully demonstrate the love of man and machine. [/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]Detroit engineer Preston Tucker has always wanted to build cars. As World War II draws to a close, Tucker’s dream finally begins to seem possible—he hires a young designer and the financial support of a New York financier to help him build the ‘car of the future’. The ‘Tucker Torpedo’ was to feature never-seen-before safety designs, such as disc brakes, seat belts, a pop-out windshield and swivelling headlights which turned with the car. This extraordinary film caused the price of the Tucker Sedans to spike and won Tucker and his automobiles new appreciation, upon its release in 1988.[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]

[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]Based on Stephen King’s novel of the same name, Christine is the story of a car that doesn’t want to obey the man-machine pecking order. After having mysteriously claimed the lives of many unsuspecting people, including its builders, drivers and passengers, the red and white 1958 Plymouth Fury, named Christine, falls into the possession of a young Arnold ‘Arnie’ Cunningham. As Arnie spends more time repairing Christine, he unwittingly dons the persona of a 1950’s greaser. The just-shy-of-sentient, bloodthirsty motor vehicle that is Christine, is emboldened further by his devotion towards itself and unleashes a series of horrors upon his life that Arnie would never see coming.[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]
